Online Insurance - Need to seek help from your insurer

AS a life insurance customer, there can be multiple situations when you may have queries and will need to get in touch with your insurer. Here are some of the situations in which you may require their assistance:

1) Policy related issues: One of the most common policy related query could be not having received the document within two to four weeks of completed the initial procedures. In this case, you should contact your insurer and get the policy document delivered. If the policy has in-correct details printed on it, you should contact the insurer at the earliest, since such details are crucial at the time of making a claim. There may also be instances where your policy may not meet your financial requirement. In such cases, you should use the free-look period.

2) Claims related issues: Claim related questions could vary from the claim intimation process, documents required for a claim submission, or the claim amount that would be payable, for which, you can contact the insurer. In case, your claim has not been settled within the mentioned timeline, or has been rejected, you could make a complaint to the insurer.

3) Fund related issues: As a customer of a unit-linked plan (Ulip), the most common query is usually the fund value or fund's NAV, or getting an account statement. You can also avail of the fund-switch facility offered by insurers to safeguard your Ulip investments from market volatilities.

What you can do?
